Our Program

Curriculum

The preschool curriculum we use at Little Lambs Christian Daycare is Funshine Express. Through Funshine Express, we practice daily activities such as numbers, letters, colors, and shapes to further our learning and fun. Funshine Express is an Award-Winning Early Learning Curriculum and now has a Christian Supplement that ties the monthly themes to Bible stories to create well rounded lessons for the children.

Activities

We try to play outdoors as much as possible to enjoy that California sun. The program we follow includes many activities and we supplement those with many more... The backyard can accommodate a lot of running and has a circular path to use bikes, etc. When the children are older, we often walk or take our bus to the many playgrounds in the neighborhood.

Daily Schedule

Our Daily Schedule is not set in stone. Depending on the track we are on, we may not be making a school run that day, or we may have children in the afternoon kindergarten needing picked up. Sometimes the children want more free time to run and less project time. But, since children need some sort of structure, for the majority of the time, this is our schedule:

6am-7am: Arrival / Free Play

7am-7:45am: breakfast / clean up

7:45am-8:30am: school run / free play

8:30am-9:00am: lesson part 1 (numbers, letters, colors, shapes)

9:00am-9:30am: lesson part 2 (weekly subject matter, organized games, songs...)

9:30am-10:00am: snack

10:00am-10:45am: outside / inside play

10:45am-11:30am: school run / project

11:30am-12:00pm: free play

12:00pm-12:15pm: Bible review/prayer

12:15pm-12:45pm: Lunch

12:45pm-2:00pm: Quiet time / nap

2:00pm-3:00pm: School run / Sesame Street 3:00pm-3:30pm: snack

3:30pm-4:15pm: free play

4:15pm-4:45pm: reading time

4:45pm-5:00pm: coloring

5:00pm-6:00pm: free play

Field Trips

We love going to the park, and in the past, we have taken the children to places like the zoo and the pumpkin patch. It always depends on the number of children off/on track and the age of the infants in the program at the time. We always discuss field trips with all the parents before scheduling.

Monthly Newsletter and Photos

There is a monthly newsletter that goes out for all of the preschool children so that you may keep abreast of what your child is learning.
In addition to that, we utilize Brightwheel for our school. Brightwheel is an app downloaded to mobile devices that enable us to upload daily learning and photos in real time.
